Conversación entre científicos: A ver quién cuela en los artículos de investigación más citas de Dylan

Lo cuenta el Whasington Post. Y así fue. Tal cual dice el título de este post. Un grupo de cinco científicos del Instituto Karolinska de Suecia se apostaron a ver quién de ellos colaba más referencias a Dylan en sus trabajos de investigación. 
John Jundberg y Eddie Weitzberg publicaron el artículo Óxido Nítrico e inflamación: la respuesta está soplando en el viento (Nitric Oxide and inflammation: The answer is blowing in the wind). El siguiente equipo, formado por Konstantinos Meletis y Jonas Frisén publicó entonces Blood on the tracks: a simple twist of fate, que incluye el titulo de una canción y el álbum en el que se publicó. A partir de aquí la idea fue creciendo y se unió Kennet Chien con su trabajo Tangled in blue: molecular cardiology in the postmolecular era.

The Basement Tapes Complete: nuevo bootleg series y nueva decepción

Otra cosa no sé, pero la foto es genial
Amigos, el 4 de noviembre se lanza una nueva edición de las Bootleg series, esa genial idea de la gente de Dylan para recuperar las grabaciones con el irónico nombre de "las series pirata". Entre las once entregas ha habido de todo. Desde las míticas 1-3, las necesarias 4 y 5 (con el Judas incident y la Rolling Thunder), las prescindibles 6, 7 y 9, y las sorprendentes 8. Esta vez es una completa versión de la cintas del sótano, y entra de lleno en el grupo de las prescindibles. En mi opinión no aporta nada nuevo. Los coleccionistas ya tenemos las "Genuine Basement Tapes" que habían cubierto de sobra esta época. No sé, yo sigo con la esperanza de un bootleg series de los años 79 y 80, o quizá de los directos del 95...

Seminario rock en la Universidad de Chile

La Universidad de Chile ha organizado un seminario la quinta versión del “Seminario Rock y Poesía: lírica y épica del folk de los años 60 y 70”, un evento  que examina los cruces entre ambas disciplinas y las letras de importantes figuras como Leonard Cohen y Bob Dylan. Empieza el 2 de octubre.

Los expertos aconsejan no escuchar a Dylan mientras se trabaja

Lo cuenta Rubén Romero Santos en ICON (El País). Parece ser que lo mejor para escuchar mientras se trabaja son canciones con melodías repetitivas y sin letra. Esto tiene un efecto en nuestro cerebro que hace que liberemos dopamina.
Repasemos. música sin letra (adiós, Bob Dylan), con melodías repetitivas, ni grandes sobresaltos. O sea: jazz clásico –nada de vanguardismos estridentes y jam sessions infernales–; música clásica –lo mismo, mucho Bach y nada de ruidismo a lo Stockhausen, pero un Beethoven metido en furia ayuda en los días de estrés y un buen Wagner ahoga el runrún de cualquier cotorra de oficina–; música minimalista a lo Philip Glass, Steve Reich o Erik Satie; ambient a lo Brian Eno; chill out, pero sin pasarnos con las dosis ibicencas, que el lugar de trabajo no es el Café del Mar, por favor; muchas bandas sonoras, del muy de moda Cliff Martínez a Michael Nyman o Alexandre Desplat. Y, ¡sorpresa!, bandas sonoras de videojuegos, especialmente diseñadas por los desarrolladores para no despistarte en tus aventuras gráficas. Busquen Michael Giacchino o Medal of honor en Spotify. Todas estas canciones ayudarán, pero no convertirán a el Tonto Simón de la canción de Radio Futura en Einstein. A fin de cuentas, la relación de amor entre música y trabajo se parece más a un bolero que a cualquier otra cosa.
